Organ Restoration and Heritage Activity; ‘Moor for Swine’: Moccas’ Hidden Heritage
Client: PCC of St Michael and All Angels, Moccas, Herefordshire
Dates: 2019 – 2023
Moccas Church is a delightful Grade I listed Norman church set within the beautiful Welsh Marches.
I helped the PCC obtain NLHF funding for the complete restoration of the church’s 19th century RW Walker organ and its stunning painted case, by Gilbert Scott Jnr and Charles Eamer Kempe. I then delivered the programme of associated heritage community activity, which included craft workshops and online talks, and wrote interpretation content about the church’s heritage.
A few years later, I secured a second NLHF grant, enabling the PCC to share more of Moccas’ fascinating history through a new digital interpretation scheme using an InfoPoint.
